Let’s Chill Homemade Ice Cream: A Local Story in Coral Springs
One Space, One Story — Edition 01
“Every scoop tells a story of care, quality, and craftsmanship.”
Some places in a community become more than just businesses. They become gathering spots — places where families stop after dinner, where friends meet for a conversation, and where simple moments turn into lasting memories.
In Coral Springs, Let’s Chill Homemade Ice Cream is one of those places.
Located on Sample Road, the shop was founded by Cristina and Ricardo, two longtime public servants — a nurse and a police officer, both U.S. Army veterans — who decided to build something of their own for the community they call home.
The idea behind Let’s Chill was simple: create ice cream made with care, real ingredients, and a focus on quality over shortcuts.
Without previous experience in ice cream making, they set out to learn the craft from the ground up — experimenting, refining recipes, and focusing on one principle that continues to guide the shop today: authentic ingredients and attention to detail.
Today, every batch of ice cream is made in-house using real ingredients and no artificial colors or flavors. Instead, natural sources like beet juice, turmeric, spirulina, and purple carrot give their small-batch creations their vibrant color.
That approach has earned attention beyond Coral Springs.
Let’s Chill was ranked #2 Best Ice Cream Shop in America by Yelp, recognition driven by both the quality of the ice cream and the welcoming experience customers find when they walk through the door.
Inside, the focus is on small-batch ice cream made from scratch. Outside, the shop opens onto a small seating area where neighbors often gather with a cone or cup on warm Florida evenings.
As part of our One Space, One Story initiative, we recently had the opportunity to refresh the concrete sidewalk and entry area in front of the shop — helping clean and brighten the space that welcomes customers each day.
It was a small project, but one that reflects something we believe strongly: the places that give character to a neighborhood are often the ones built with intention and care.
Cristina and Ricardo set out to create a place where people could pause, connect, and enjoy something simple done well — and Let’s Chill has become exactly that for many in Coral Springs.
If you’re nearby, it’s well worth stopping in.
“Natural ingredients, small batches, and a commitment to doing things the right way.”
Places like this remind us that behind every local storefront there is a story — and that those stories are part of what makes a community feel like home.
